ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 23, 2012) – Craig Stidham collected his first victory in the Cancen Oil King of the West Series presented by Goodyear when he won the series’ race at Antioch Speedway.
An accomplished racer in other forms of sprint car racing, Stidham’s win at Antioch was his first victory in a 410 sprint car.
Stidham won the race on Goodyear tires. Goodyear is the official tire provider for the King of the West series.
Jason Statler finished second, followed by Bobby McMahan, Willie Croft and Kyle Hirst. Dominic Scelzi, son of former NHRA champion Gary Scelzi, started 18th and finished sixth. The younger Scelzi ran the race in a car with a 360 engine, smaller and less powerful than the 410s used by the other competitors.
