With the 410 season just about wrapped up in Northern California, Jonathan Allard and his Williams Motorsports team bolted in their 360ci engine, and headed to the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA for two nights of action known as the Fall Nationals.

“It’s always nice racing at my home track in Chico,” Allard said. “I have a great fan base there, and I love that little quarter mile.”

Allard proceeded to show his love for the track all weekend, as the current King of the West points leader put on quite a show for the fans that were in attendance. With action kicking off on Friday night, Allard’s only blemish of the weekend was during qualifications.

“We went out right in the middle of the session and flat out missed it,” he said.

Allard would time in a dismal 18th quick, missing the heat race inversion by two positions. Starting in the fifth spot in his heat race, JA would finish in the sixth spot, failing to make the transfer and being forced to run in the B main.

Starting in the second row of the B main, JA and his potent No.0 machine looked to be heading in the right direction as he quickly grabbed the lead, and went on to win the race, transferring into the feature event.

JA’s qualifying time would come back to haunt him for the feature, as he started the 30-lap affair in the 18th position. Coming from the ninth row, JA let it all hang out, as he ran his car on the ragged edge carving his way through dense traffic on the Silver Dollar Speedway.

Allard made a late race surge to steal the second spot from Rico Abreu, and score a second place finish on the opening night.

“We got off to a slow start early, but we rebounded nicely, and put on quite a show in the feature,” he said. “I hope the fans enjoyed it, because it was a blast to be part of.”

Saturday night went off much smoother, as Allard got off to a strong start as he timed in fifth fastest during qualifications with 48 cars checked into the pit area.

Picking up a heat win, JA would then go on to score a fourth place finish in the dash, to put his Williams Motorsports entry in the second row for the 40-lap championship finale.

In the final feature event at speedway, JA would hold tough in the top-five as he battled with Sean Becker, Rico Abreu, and Shane Golobic early in the feature.

As the race wore on a hard-charging, Tim Kaeding, threw his hat in the mix for a very fierce fight for the win.

With the checkered flag in the air, Allard would close the Silver Dollar Speedway season out in the third spot.

“Overall it was a great weekend for this team,” he explained. “We had a bad fast racecar, and hopefully this helps us for the upcoming Trophy Cup. Now we will focus on closing out the King of the West season on a high note for Morrie and Katie Williams.”

ON TAP: JA and the Williams Motorsports team now set their sights on the King of the West finale at the Kings Speedway on October 13th.
