From Craig Dollansky Racing
Chilly temperatures in the Northeast greeted the Big Game Treestands #7 team on Saturday as they made their second and final visit of the season to Rolling Wheels Raceway Park as part of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week. Making his thirteenth appearance at the track in New York, Craig Dollansky had a great record of 9 top-tens and 5 top-fives that included a runner-up finish earlier in May.
Set to go to open up the month of October, 28 drivers signed in for competition. As the racing program got underway with qualifying ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ motored to the 2nd fastest lap around the big 5/8-mile at 17.397 seconds. Heat race action saw the MobileStar backed sprinter take the green from outside row two and finish 5th. The biggest inversion of eight for the dash then put Dollansky seventh for the 6-lap event where he crossed the finish line in the same position.
Once final preparations were made for the 25-lap A-Main, the green flag waved on the main event until an early caution by lap 5. On the ensuing restart Dollansky battled just outside the top-five but held seventh before the yellow flag was displayed again for the final time on lap 15. With only ten circuits remaining, much of the field held position in the final laps as the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim took the checkered flag in 7th to record a top-ten finish.
World of Outlaws action continues this coming weekend just south of St. Louis at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 with a full race program along with the Ironman 55 feature that was postponed in August.
