CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 5, 2012) – Championships are born of a season-long effort and Donny Schatz completed the Peak Motor Oil World Finals presented by NAPA being hailed as the 2012 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion. The event was held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Schatz completed the season with a 9,846-9,732 lead over runner up Craig Dollansky in the championship standings.
With the completion of the event, Goodyear completed its tenure as the exclusive tire provider for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
“Our Goodyear Eagles gave the performance asked of us at the start of the program,
making the cars more raceable,” said Goodyear’s Justin Fantozzi. “The result was the
tremendous competition the Outlaws have been known for.”
Schatz did not qualify for Saturday’s first race weekend’s event. Sammy Swindell
collected his 13th victory of the season. Swindell was followed by Brian Brown, Kraig Kinser,
Paul McMahan and Jason Johnson.
The following night, Dale Blaney won his second Outlaws race of 2012. McMahan
finished second, followed by Johnson, Kinser and Greg Hodnet.
