Mitchell Upside Down at Perris

After getting upside down during last weekends Copper on Dirt at the Canyon Speedway Park, Matt Mitchell was hoping for a good night at the Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday night, however, it was not in the cards as the Yorba Linda, CA driver got upside down again early in the feature.

“I’m definitely over crashing all ready,” Mitchell said. “I know it is part of the sport but we have had some bad luck with guys getting out of shape in front of us, and I’m hoping it’s over…for a while at least.”

With 37 cars checked in for the Sokola Shootout, Mitchell timed his A.R.T. Enterprises/MPD Racing/Parker Performance Engines No.37 entry in with 21st quickest lap of the night.

Picking up his heat race win, Mitchell transferred into the feature event, though he was deep on the grid.

Mitchell’s race however was short lived.

While running in the 16th position, a car spun in front of Mitchell, and contact was made to the Caliagua/Bell Helmets/Hedman Hedders entry, and Mitchell got upside down in a big way, with too much damage to make quick repairs.

“We have a bit of torn-up equipment from the last two weekends, so we will hopefully get that all taken care of the next couple of weeks before our next race”

Matt Mitchell Racing would like to thank, A.R.T. Enterprises, MPD Racing, Parker Performance Engines, Caliagua, Bell Helmets, and Hedman Hedders for their support in 2013.
