From Port Royal Speedway
Port Royal, PA – (March 17, 2013) – After losing its season opener to snow and cold on March 16, Port Royal Speedway is set to open the 2013 season this Saturday, March 23 at 5 pm featuring the 410 sprints, late models and an enduro dash.
Starting time has been moved up to 5 pm for both the March 23 and March 30 programs. General admission gates for both shows will open at 3 pm, offering $15 adult general admission and $5 for students ages 12 – 18.
Thanks to Dippery’s Evergreens of Reedsville, the racing program will offer increased winner’s shares for the sprints and late models.
Dippery’s Evergreens is a landscaping and design contractor located in Reedsville, PA.
Sprint cars will race for $3,300 to win while late models will vie for $1,500 to win. Features, set by draw, will be 25 laps and 20 laps, respectively.
The first 400 fans passing through the general admission gates for the opener will take home free 2013 Port Royal schedule magnets courtesy of Juniata Beverage.
Juniata Beverage is located along Rt. 75, just north of the speedway on Tyson Hill.
The March 23 season opener will be the debut of double file, “Delaware” style restarts for the super late models at Port Royal.
Coming up March 30, Kids Easter Night will offer free chocolate Easter Rabbits to the first 200 youth entering the stands and a kids Easter Egg Scramble in the infield is slated.
Racing will include 410 sprints, late models and the season opener for the pro stocks.
