Jessica Bean PR
(Lebanon, IN) Farmland (IN) native Jessica Bean has a new look and a new commitment for the 2013 Mel Kenyon Midget Series racing season. She is forgoing her familiar red number 9 Kenyon Midget for a black number 100 car.
The car and its look are a result of Bean partnering with the women of the United Auto Workers and the American Cancer Society to celebrate the American Cancer Society’s 100th Birthday and to promote the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer awareness program. In addition to the graphic look of her car, Bean will serve as an American Cancer Society Motorsports Champion; taking the message to race fans and competitors that with their support the American Society is leading the way to transform cancer from deadly to preventable.
“I am very excited to be joining forces with the Women of the UAW and Jessica to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer. The American Cancer Society is the world’s leader in the fight to end breast cancer. Together we can do the most for people with breast cancer today to end the disease tomorrow.” said Beverley Austin, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Manger in Central Indiana.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to work with the UAW and the American Cancer Society in their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer efforts. I am truly honored to be named their Motorsports Champion, and I hope to make an impact through my efforts on and off the track.” Bean commented.
The UAW’s Danny Ernstes explained “We in the UAW are proud of this partnership with Jessica Bean and the Making Strides Campaign. The car is a witness to all who have battled cancer. It represents the UAW’s commitment of our members and our families to help eliminate breast cancer while providing a means of support.”
Race fans can see Bean’s #100 Making Strides Midget for the 1st time Sunday April 14th at Anderson Speedway during the Glen Niebel Classic. Practice and qualifying starts at 11:30, the Fan Appreciation Autograph Session begins at 1:10 and racing kicks-off at 2:00.
