With Mother Nature rearing her ugly head in the Pennsylvania area, Lance Dewease and his Heffner Racing team were in action only once over the weekend on very rare occasion, but Dewease made the best of it as he charged to a third place finish.
Lining his Lelands.com/Conduit Connections/Pasquirellos Auto Shop machine up in the seventh row of the 25-lap feature, Dewease was very good from the start.
Using the bottom of the speedway, Dewease entered the top five in the first six laps aboard his Penske Racing Shocks/Wings Unlimited/Brown and Miller backed entry, until the caution waved.
“That first run, I could tell we had a good car, and were capable of moving up through the field,” he said.
Back underway, Dewease continued to work the bottom of the speedway of the speedway as he clawed his way up to fourth, before battling with Danny Lasoski for the final position on the podium.
“We were both running the bottom, and I knew to get him I would have to get creative,” he added.
Creative he did, Dewease got past Lasoski late in the race, and he snuck under Lasoski, as Lasoski’s car slid up the track exiting turn two, and Dewease went on to capture the third place finish.
“We were forward pretty good all night,” he said. “Overall I’m pleased, and am looking forward to some big shows this coming weekend.”
