April 30, 2013 – It was a solid start for Terry McCarl in the TMAC Motorsports #24 at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday night. He started his pursuit of an eighth Knoxville Championship Cup Series crown with a second place finish. Weather pending, he’ll be back at this Saturday night. He’s also happy to welcome SnowPlow Snow Pushers to the team as a new partner!
All inverts are eight for features this year at Knoxville, so qualifying eighth was good come feature time, but TMAC was aiming for more. “We ended up qualifying in a prime spot for the feature, but I’m the type of person who wants to win everything,” he says. “I want to have fast time and win the feature. The car wasn’t locking down as well as I needed it to. I do love the (Hoosier) tires. I have to work on the car a little bit to make it nicer. We are fast, and we are close.”
Starting outside row two in his heat race, TMAC would come home second and lock himself on the front row of the main event. “The car was solid in the heat, but not great,” he says. “We ran second, which was good.”
Starting beside pole-sitter DonDroud Jr., TMAC would see second row starter Shane Stewart pass the pair early and set sail. “Shane drove by Don Droud and I like we were tied to a stump,” he says. “I got a little better later. I kind of found out my line, and I feel like I drove my best for the car we had.”
Despite not being 100% comfortable in the car, TMAC did a solid job driving to a second place finish on opening night. “I didn’t have the fastest car, and maybe not a second place car…but I started up (front),” he says. “It was one of those nights where you are happy, because you did your best. I figured out the best line to run where the car was going to work best. That’s really all you can do at that point.”
While TMAC chased Stewart up front, son Austin was providing excitement from the back. “All in all, it was a good night,” he says. “I think it was a good race for the fans. Austin was coming up through the field with Brian (Brown). He actually had an oil line come loose. I came around and saw him, and I thought the worst. It was the oil line coming off, which is still bad, but it could have been worse.”
TMAC was pleased with the new move to Hoosier tires at Knoxville. “The tires, after the feature, weren’t like new, but you could definitely run them again,” he says. “That’s awesome.”
Despite a practice session Friday night, TMAC is still trying to nail down his setup on the half-mile. “I’m not as happy with my car right now as I could be,” he admits. “It felt really good the first time out on practice night. Then Carson ran it in the second set, which scared me. Then it felt o.k. when it got slicker, but it’s not 100%. Still, we finished second, which makes me excited to go back.”

SnowPlow Snow Pushers On Board for 2013!
TMAC is happy to have SnowPlow Snow Pushers join his team for 2013. “SnowPlow Snow Pushers are built in Iowa by an Iowa company, so that makes it really, really cool,” he says. “I’m pretty happy about that aspect of it. You can go and buy these shovels right in the town of Altoona. That makes this partnership pretty special for me.”
More on SnowPlow Snow Pushers…
The SnowPlow Snow Pushers are a top quality product built with the commercial users needs in mind. There is always the right tool for the right job. If you are looking to quickly clear large areas from several inches of snow we have the right tool.
Sidewalks, Steps, Wood Decks, Patios, and Aggregate & Stone surfaces usually create a challenge but not with a lightweight, rust free, non abrasive, indestructible The Snowplow snow pusher.
Our product is built with a formed 1/4″ thick UHMW poly blade available in widths up to 48″ wide. The typical commercial user will get 2-4 seasons of extreme use out of our blades before they need replaced. A homeowner typically uses an individual shovel for 10 years plus.
All of our parts are assembled with a simple bolt together construction. This allows the user to replace any of the parts if that becomes necessary or if you decide to replace blades after a few seasons you could choose a larger or smaller size blade to better fit your needs.
Our product has been put to the test. From the largest contractors to the single plow truck our product is built for the abuse of the season.
