Bouncing back from a dismal weekend, Andy Gregg scored a fourth place finish at the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial in Chico, CA against the King of the West Series.

“When we keep our nose clean or don’t have any engine trouble, we have been pretty fast all year,” Gregg said. “After having some bad luck Friday it’s nice to come out and score a good finish in a huge race.”

After waiting out a quick rain shower prior to qualifications, Gregg ended up timing in his Coors Light/LivFast/GUTS Racing No. 53 in sixth quickest.

Starting in the second row of his heat, the Placerville, CA driver would grab a second place finish, and earn a spot in the feature event, and also the dash.

Following the ‘grudge’ draw, Gregg would line up in the fifth spot , before scoring a fourth place finish, putting his Meyers and Son Drywall/Ervin Sales Group/K&N Products machine in the second row for the 40-lap feature event.

When the race went green, Gregg instantly hooked up in a torrid battle for third with Kyle Hirst and Jonathan Allard.

Getting the third spot on the jump, Gregg worked the bottom of the speedway as Hirst and Allard pressured from the top shelf.

Slipping to fourth on the third lap, Gregg missed the bottom in three and four, and Allard got him as he slipped back to the fourth spot.

Continuing to battle with Allard, and Hirst, Gregg would continue to bounce back and forth from third and fourth.

Getting into the third spot, Gregg would charge up to battle with Rico Abreu for second, and actually grabbed the second spot briefly.

On the ultra slick track, Gregg would see Allard and Hirst both get back around him, as he dropped back into the fifth spot late in the race.

Keeping them both within striking distance, Gregg would end up scoring a fourth place finish as a leader dropped out late in the race.

“We were awesome in the feature,” Gregg said. “Going wheel to wheel with the likes of Kyle Hirst, Jonathan Allard, and Rico Abreu really says a lot about how we are running right now. Unfortunately we lost a couple of spots late, but we are not hanging our heads.”

Friday night, Gregg and his team were in action for the weekly show at the Silver Dollar Speedway, and a MSD Ignition Box, plagued him, and he was unable to start the feature event.

Andy would like to thank Coors Light, LivFast Clothing Co., GUTS Racing, Meyers and Son Drywall, Ervin Sales Group, K&N Products, FK Rod Ends, Eagle Motorsports, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Hinchman, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and 103.5 The Blaze for their support in 2013.
