HAUBSTADT, Ind. (June 19, 2013) – Frustrating doesn’t begin to describe how Bill Rose feels right now.

“We just can’t get the car to drive forward or nothing,” he said. “We’ve changed everything. We’re actually going to put another car together.”

Rose’s level of frustration was evident after finishing ninth in the Last Chance Showdown during The Big Game Shootout Presented by Eyecon Trail Cameras on Friday at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., when he decided to stop competing full time with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.

“After Jackson I was so frustrated,” he said. “We loaded up. I told the guys, ‘If we make it home we’ll run Haubstadt.'”

The team skipped Saturday’s World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Mediacom Shootout at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for a Midwest Open Wheel Association event at Tri-State Speedway.

Rose maneuvered from sixth to fourth in his heat race and from eighth to sixth in the dash to start the main event on the outside of the third row. He advanced into the top five before spinning out and restarting at the back.

“The car doesn’t set down on the race track,” he said. “It doesn’t drive forward. It’s just messed up. I don’t know. I’m lost right now.”

Rose passed nearly a half-dozen cars to finish 13th in the feature.

He is not racing with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series this weekend, but might compete on Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, if the new car is built in time. After this weekend he will rejoin the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series and race in the remainder of the events in the United States.

“That’s what my plans are right now, everything but Canada,” he said. “Everything will stay the same with David.”

After finished 17th at Jackson Speedway and earning a seventh-place finish on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, Bill Rose Racing driver David Gravel is seventh in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship standings. He will continue as a full-time driver on the series, which competes on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., and Saturday at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minn.
