The last six races he has competed in, Jonathan Allard has won five of them. He is on fire; untouchable if you will. Saturday night at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA, Allard won his second consecutive Howard Kaeding Classic as he led all 30-laps en-route to his victory.
An uncharacteristic slick track greeted Allard and the field early in the night, as the track was dusty and hard during hot-laps.
An early draw seemed to help JA during time trials, as he set the standard, timing in with a lap of 13.499, a few seconds off the normal pace at the speedway.

Following some track prep to try and salvage what they could of the speedway, Allard proceeded to score a second place finish in his heat race, safely putting him in the feature event, and also qualified him for the Dash.
Finding the one pill in his envelope, Allard would pace the field in the Dash, as he held off a pesky, Kyle Hirst, to earn the right to start on the pole for the 30-lap shootout.
With the track threatening to take rubber, the start was key, and the Chico, CA pilot was hard on the throttle as he shot out to an early lead as the race went green for 13-laps.
Allard was pressured late in the race by Hirst as the top-three raced under a blanket in lapped traffic, but Allard was too good on this night, and raced away to his eleventh win overall in 2013.
“We have some great people who help this team, and they are really giving us the tools we need to be fast,” he said. “It was Katie Williams’ birthday on Saturday night, so it was awesome to give her something to celebrate.
