Spencer Bayston Returns to the Mel Kenyon Midget Series Victory Lane at US 24 Speedway

From MKMS

(Lebanon, IN)  Spencer Bayston returned to the Mel Kenyon Midget Series victory lane on June 13 at US 24 Speedway.  Bayston didn’t take the easy way to the win however, having to come from the tail following two spins.  Kent Kriegbaum led the 1st 26 laps of the race, before relinquishing the lead to Bayston.

In his race from the tail of the field Bayston encountered a furious battle for second place between Cordy Horn and Clayton Gaines.  Once Bayston managed to pass Horn and Gaines, the two drivers continued to race wheel to wheel for the 3rd spot until Gaines dropped out for mechanical reasons on lap 24.

Horn, Cole Fehr and Amanda Davies filled out the tope five spots behind Bayston and Kriegbaum.

Series regulars Travis Young and Jessica Bean weren’t factors in the race.  Young flipped his car and retired from the event on the 1st lap.  Bean was recovering from an accident at race with another series on July 12.  Megan Wood subbed for Bean in the UAW/Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Car.
