“With our Knoxville season being over, we decided to race as much as we can to continue to make our team better, and we have been awesome the last month or so,” Madsen said.

Winning his heat race Friday night in Benton, MO, Madsen put his KCP Racing No. 18 machine on the front row for the 30-lap feature.

When the race went green, Madsen was hard on the throttle and jumped out into the early lead.

Out front, Madsen was on a rail in his Doug Ranking prepared machine, and was never seriously challenged.

Madsen would go on to lead all 30-laps, and pick up his 12th win overall in 2013.

Heading to Farmington, MO on Saturday night, Madsen was in action for the Queen’s Royal.

Timing in fifth fastest, Madsen would go on to finish third in his heat race, putting him in the second row for the feature event.

With a little rain starting to fall as the feature event went green, Madsen was on a mission to get to the front in case the race was shortened, but also had to worry about the grease that the rain would create.

Running in the third spot, Madsen went to make a pass on the top-two as the leader made a mistake and bottled them both up, and as he did that, he got a little sideways, and ultimately got hit, and spun around.

Madsen would go to the back, and finish back there.

“Overall I can’t complain about our weekend,” he said. “We grabbed a win on Friday, and had a car good enough to win on Saturday, the driver just made a little mistake.”
