ASCS Midwest Region kicks off at I-80 Speedway

TULSA, Okla. (March 31, 2014) – The Speedway Motors ASCS Midwest Region begins their 2014 season this weekend with a double-header at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.

The Spring Meltdown also includes the MLRA Late Models, CBC Super Late Models, and Modifieds both nights. The Speedway Motors Midwest Region will see a $2,500 to win A-Feature both nights. Since both nights are identical in terms of payout, no lock-ins will be taken from Friday’s A-Feature to Saturday.

 

An open practice will be held on Thursday, April 3 starting at 6:30 P.M. (CT) and running until 9:00 P.M.

 

The 2013 edition of the Spring Meltdown saw Jack Dover pick up the Friday show with Sioux Falls, S.D. driver Gregg Bakker winning the Saturday finale. Both nights were also worth $2,500 to the winner.

 

Jack Dover enters as the defending champion of the Speedway Motors Midwest Region. The Springfield, Neb. native will again seek the Midwest Regional title in 2014.

 

Friday, April 4, Pits will open at 4:00 P.M. with grandstands opening at 5:30 P.M. Races will begin at 7:15 P.M. General admission is $20. Saturday, April 5 opens at 3:00 P.M. with races kicking off at 5:55 P.M. Admission will be $25. Both nights include discounts for kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 years and younger get in free.
