(Lebanon, IN) Last year’s American Cancer Society Motorsports Champion for Making Strides Against Breast, Jessica Bean, returns to help “Finish the Fight” in 2014. Bean will again carry the ACS Making Strides logos and colors on her Mel Kenyon Series car.
“I’m happy to be partnering with the American Cancer Society and the UAW Motorsports team again as we push to take the cancer fight to the finish line,” stated Bean.
Bean raised just over $2,500 for the Making Strides campaign in 2013 and hopes to drastically improve on that this year. The UAW Motorsports team and Bean plan to have ways for fans to get involved with the Making Strides campaign not only away from the track but at each race as well.
In addition to increasing her efforts towards the ACS charity, Bean also hopes to increase her win count in 2014. After a sole win on the dirt last year, she is looking to add to her win column.
“This year is all about the wins for me,” stated Bean. “After sitting out a couple of races last year I got to feel what it was like to just race for fun and for wins, and not have to worry about points. That’s what I plan on doing all season long.”
The 2014 Mel Ken Midget Series starts the 2014 racing season on Sunday April 27 at Anderson Speedway. The Mel Kenyon Midgets will run as a part of the Glen Niebel Classic. Racing starts at 2:00 Pm and Adult tickets are $12.
