As 32 drivers signed in for 410 competition, Craig Dollansky began the night by timing in 10th fastest at 15.556 seconds. Lining up inside row two on the grid for heat one, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ used a great start claiming runner-up in the opening laps and then hugging the bottom around the ½-mile to take the top spot and go on to win the 8-lap event.
In the 20-lap A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim took the green outside row five. After a favorable start to the main event was waved back due to a spin in turn three, the next attempt saw Dollansky lose a couple spots but then rebound running ninth in the opening circuits. Primarily running the highside battling with Bronson Maeschen and Brian Brown, trouble would find the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 with nine to go when the right rear tire blew. With the feature past the halfway point and no time in the work area, Dollansky was forced to retire from the event credited with a 21st place finish.
“We made some progress with our car in the heat race and had a decent car in the A-Main until the right rear tire began losing air pressure entering turn one on the eleventh lap,” commented the veteran driver from Elk River, Minnesota. “I was able to keep it out of the wall to save any further damage but we didn’t get any time to change the tire and ended our night.”
The Big Game Treestands #7 team will compete next at Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma this coming Friday with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
