Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will present FREE Student Night, Youth Softball & Baseball Team Uniform Night this Saturday, May 3 at 7 pm.
Racing action on the night will include the Aumiller’s Insurance 410 sprints, the Jake’s Golf Carts super late models and the River Valley Builders 305 sprint cars.
Students ages 12 – 18 will be afforded FREE general admission for the night of racing action while special activities take place for the youth softball and baseball team players who attend in uniform.
Guided pit tours for the ball players with sprint car drivers Keith Kauffman, Doug Esh, Dylan Cisney and Logan Wagner will take place beginning at 5:30 pm.
Ball players who want to take part in the tours must assemble at the outside fourth corner pit gate entrance adjacent to general admission parking beginning at 5:15 pm.
Players in uniform will also be awarded a free fountain soda voucher.
Other games and activities for the players including a t-shirt toss will take place with the kids in the infield early in the night after the pit tours and a group photo will be taken on the stage.
So far this season, no 410 sprint or super late model drivers have repeated victory at Port Royal.
In the sprints, wins have gone to Blane Heimbach, Rick Lafferty, Dale Blaney and Greg Hodnett.
Hodnett is the current early season point leader.
In super late models, victories have gone to Tim Wilson, Nick Dickson and Brett Schadel.
In 305 sprint mains, Tyler Bear and John Brain have taken wins.
General admission gates for the May 3 racing program open at 5 pm with racing slated for 7 pm.
Adult general admission is just $15 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for FREE this week.
Coming up May 10 at he speedway it will be Lake Chevrolet Mother’s Night at the track when all moms are awarded $10 general admission tickets.
Racing will be the 410 sprints, super lates and 355 econo late models at 7 pm.
