KNOXVILLE, IOWA (May 14, 2014) – The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will host its monthly Sprint Car 101: Third Thursday Series program on Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. with “An Evening with John McCoy & Brian Stickel.” The program is free and open to the public, and it will take place on the second floor of the non-profit museum.
According to museum executive director Bob Baker today, “We last had Knoxville Raceway general manager Brian Stickel speak in March of 2013 and a lot of things have happened at the legendary half-mile dirt track since then, including a very successful 2013 Knoxville Nationals, Monster Truck Jam, and Knoxville Late Model Nationals. The self-proclaimed ‘Sprint Car Capital of the World’ has also opened the 2014 season with four consecutive nights of exciting winged sprint car racing action, featuring solid fields in all three divisions. Finally, yesterday, the Governor of the State of Iowa was on the Marion County Fairgrounds for the signing of the bill that will help fund the Knoxville Raceway expansion project. I am sure that fans will be anxious to hear more information about all of those subjects from both Brian Stickel and race director John McCoy.”
