Danville, PA — (May 21, 2014) — Sprint car driver Jamie Collard, 33, of Burford, Ontario, informed Selinsgrove Speedway officials Tuesday evening that he expects to be released from the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., today (May 21).
Collard was involved in a lap three crash in Saturday night’s 25-lap Empire Super Sprint-sanctioned 360 sprint car race at the half-mile oval. Collard was transported by ambulance to Geisinger, where he has been receiving treatment for injuries to his back and ribs.
Duane Mausteller, 41, of Bloomsburg, Pa., was also involved in the accident and remains in critical condition at Geisinger.
Shawn Donath, of South Onondago, N.Y., a third driver involved in the crash, was not injured.
