Atlanta, GA – 8/20/14 – The United Sprint Car Series ( www.uscsracing.com ) Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars headline the Memorial Day holiday Monday racing action at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tennessee (www.clayhillmotorsports.com ) for the 9th annual  Memorial Day “Monday Motor Madness” on this coming holiday Monday, May 26th at 7:00pm. The event will award USCS National points and points toward the 2014 Championship in the USCS Mid-South Thunder Tour regional sprint car series. The 2006 USCS Rookie of the Year, and defending National Champion, Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas won the 2013 USCS Sprint Car Speedweek Round #3 on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th.

The challenging 3/8 mile red clay oval has been the venue for a number of exciting USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint car events over the past decade and always proves to be one of the most popular tracks on the USCS schedule with both drivers and fans. Additionally on the racing card will be a full program of racing that also includes the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modifieds plus Nesmith Late Model Dirt Series and all other weekly racing divisions including Hobby, Street Stock, E-MOD and Hummer FWD4 weekly racing divisions.

A number of previous Clayhill Motorsports Memorial Day event sprint car champions are expected to be entered seeking a Memorial Day trip to the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane. Those include not only the defending series Champion Derek Hagar, but also 2012 USCS National Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas plus Marshall Skinner from West Memphis, Arkansas and 10-time series Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee.  Drivers entered who already have at least one USCS feature win this season are Hagar with two wins Terry Gray, Jerod Roller from Hernando, Mississippi and female sprint car star, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee and Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee with one 2014 win each.

In the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series local favorite Matt Cooper from McKenzie, Tennessee won both the Memorial Day and later August visit by the USCS MODS last season. He and several other past USCS Modified Clayhill Motorsports winners to include Ben Reed, Lucas Lee, T.J. Herndon and Ronnie Vernon are expected to compete on Monday evening.

The Clayhill Motorsports venue is a fan favorite with air conditioned restrooms and one of the best and most modern concession stands found in short track racing. Pit gates open at 4pm grandstand Gates Open: 5:00p.m.
