CONCORD, N.C. – July 7, 2014 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series rolls into Limaland Motorsports Park on July 9 for the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by Racing Optics, a race that has seen seven different winners in the last eight events at the track.
Current Outlaws points leader Donny Schatz won last year’s Brad Doty Classic after holding off second place finisher Paul McMahan.
Kerry Madsen is one of those seven winners at Limaland. He took the trophy at the Brad Doty Classic in 2012. Madsen said he and his team have good notes going into the track but said the fact that there have been seven winners at Limaland in eight races speaks to the difficulty of winning there. The event, he said, has become one of the marquee events of the Outlaws’ season.
There have been 20 different winners of the race since its inception in 1989. Danny Smith, Steve Kinser, Dale Blaney and Donny Schatz are the only two-time winners of the race.
The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series next travels to the famed Eldora Speedway for the Knight Before the Kings Royal and the Kings Royal on July 11 and 12. Following that, the Outlaws head to Pennsylvania for stops at Lernerville Speedway, Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway.
