SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway will return to racing action at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 6, with a four division program of 360 sprint cars, super late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners presented by Foss Jewelers of Selinsgrove. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
The 360 sprint cars will compete in a 25-lap main event paying $2,000 to win. In the A&A Auto Stores/Mach 1 Chassis standings, six-time 360 sprint car winner Mark Smith of Sunbury holds a 290-point lead over three-time winner TJ Stutts of Liverpool in the chase for the track championship. Both Smith and Stutts are seeking their first career track titles.
Defending sprint car champion Jason Shultz of Carlisle, one-time winner Ryan Kissinger of Bloomsburg, and Derek Locke of Mechanicsburg round out the top five positions with just two points races remaining for the division’s inaugural season at the Snyder County half-mile oval.
The super late models, coming off the prestigious World of Outlaws-sanctioned National Open weekend, will be back this Saturday in a 25-lap feature paying $1,500 to win. With three points races remaining, former nine-time champion and five-time winner Jeff Rine of Danville carries a mere 100-point advantage over one-time winner Steve Campbell of Danville entering this weekend’s action. Two-time winner Jim Yoder of Selinsgrove, Bryan Bernheisel of Jonestown, and two-time winner Dave Zona of Montrose are currently in the top five positions.
Turning in a strong performance in 2014 with five feature wins, Brad Mitch of McClure has already clinched the pro stock track championship. Mitch currently has a 830-point lead over four-time winner Kyle Bachman of Selinsgrove. Adam Campbell of Danville, three-time winner Nathan Long of Selinsgrove, and Jake Buck of Freeburg are sitting in the top five spots with two points races on the schedule.
In the roadrunner division, seven-time winner Keith Bissinger of Orangeville enters this week’s race with a 120-point lead over two-time winner John Fowler Jr. of Montandon.
