TULSA, Okla. (March 14, 2016) With Oklahoma a wash, that means the “Lone Star State” is next for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network as Waco’s Heart O’ Texas Speedway will now host the opening event for the 2016 season on Thursday, March 17, with the famed Devil’s Bowl Speedway following on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 with the 43th Devil’s Bowl Spring Nationals.

Adding to the weekend’s trio of nights, the 2016 lineup of MAVTV Motorsports Network coverage also kicks off with all three nights being filmed.

Celebrating their 50th year of racing, the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas will become the 21st Texas based oval to host a Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series National Tour event. Since 1993, the National Tour has seen 166 events contested across the state, or 20 percent of the total races run with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.

While the National Tour and Red River Region are making their first stop this Thursday, the Heart O’ Texas Speedway has been a regular stop for ASCS Regional action since 2004. In all, 30 regional events have been contested at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway between the ASCS Gulf South, Sooner, and Lone Star Regions. In terms of total wins, Kevin Ramey holds the top spot with seven trips to Victory Lane and is one of 18 drivers on the winner’s list.

With the lion’s share of the total races contested in Texas, the Devil’s Bowl Speedway has seen action on 83 occasions with the National Tour; most recently in October, 2015 with the Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals which saw Wayne Johnson and Sam Hafertepe, Jr. split the weekend. For Lanny and Beverly Edwards, the 2016 season is their 43rd as the promoters of the Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Since 1994, a total of 29 drivers have won at least one Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Gary Wright posted 20 wins before retiring in 2012 from the National Tour, and is the all-time winningest driver at the Devil’s Bowl in ASCS action.

Along with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, the three night run will also be co-sanctioned with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Red River Region presented by Smiley’s Racing Products.

Thursday, March 17 at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway will see races getting underway at 7:30 P.M. (CT). Admission is $20 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and kids five and under admitted free into the grandstands. Pit Passes are $35.
