SELINSGROVE, Pa. – For the third week in a row, Selinsgrove Speedway officials were forced to cancel the racing program scheduled for Saturday night due to inclement weather.
With numerous teams and fans traveling from outside of Pennsylvania as part of the Empire Super Sprint contingent scheduled to compete at Selinsgrove, the announcement was made at 12 p.m. Saturday as a courtesy. The cancellation also knocked out the second event in the six-race Port Royal/Selinsgrove Moon Shine Camo Route 35 Super Late Model Challenge Series.
The speedway has a big program slated over the Memorial Day holiday weekend Saturday, May 28, with the return of the United Racing Club 360 sprint cars in the Third Annual Kramer Cup plus two late model features and pro stocks at 7 p.m. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.
The holiday motorsports celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. at Selinsgrove Ford with a race car display, games for the kids, chicken bar-b-q benefiting the Dauntless Hook & Ladder Co. on the dealership lot and culminating with the annual Market Street Race Car Parade through downtown Selinsgrove at 4 p.m.
Race teams interested in participating in the parade need to register with Kelly Long at Selinsgrove Ford at 570.374.8131.
The A&A Auto Stores Pro Stock 20 has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 4, along with the April 30 makeup feature for the roadrunners.
PEPSI Pack The Track that was rained out on May 7 has been slated for Saturday, July 9.
Selinsgrove Raceway Park will swing back into action at 7 p.m. this Friday, May 27, with a program of go kart and 125 micro sprint car racing. Track gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
