INDIANAPOLIS (June 7, 2016) – For the first time in 2016, Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will invade areas of southern Michigan, ready to wage war on the highbanks of Butler “Battlegrounds” Speedway near Quincy, Michigan, on Saturday night, June 11. It will be the first and only Butler Speedway appearance by the Arctic Cat All Stars this season, a tradition dating back to 1983, with 27 appearances to date. Caleb Griffith is the most recent Arctic Cat All Star victor at the “Battlegrounds,” capturing the $5,000 payday on August 22, 2015.
The lone Butler Speedway appearance will be the first of three Michigan visits for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions in 2016. “America’s Series” will return to the Great Lakes State during Independence Day weekend with scheduled visits to Hartford Speedway and I-96 Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3, highlighted with the Inaugural Dirty 30 at I-96 Speedway presented by Tony Stewart.
With Mother Nature washing away two of the most recent programs on the 2016 schedule, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will enter Butler’s pit gates on the tail end of an unexpected slump in their season. Wet weather washed away action at Atomic Speedway on Saturday, June 4, as well as action at Bedford Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday, June 5, leaving Arctic Cat All Star travelers raceless since May 28. Rico Abreu is the most recent Arctic Cat All Star winner, capturing $5,000 at Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio.
“It gets frustrating when weather keeps you from racing, but we’ll deal with it and move on,” explained current Arctic Cat All Star point leader Dale Blaney. “Hopefully our trip to Michigan kicks off a clearer stretch of schedule. It’s always nice to get back to Michigan. Butler Speedway is a unique track and usually stays pretty exciting for the fans. We’ve been successful there throughout the years so it’s hard not to be ready to get back there.”
Dale Blaney, the defending series champion, is the all-time leading Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions winner at Butler Speedway, capturing four main event victories between 2005 and 2014.
Butler Speedway in Quincy, Michigan, will open pit gates at 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, June 11. A mandatory drivers meeting will be held at the Arctic Cat All Star command center at 5:30, followed by warm ups at 6. Those seeking additional information should visit Butler Speedway live on the web at www.butlerspeedway.net.

About the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions:
All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing. Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first ‘outlaw’ Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years. Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.
