PETERSEN MEDIA- After six rigorous months going through and passing the South Bay Fire Academy, Ryan Bernal is ready to get back to the dirt track as he is set to kick his season off this weekend.

“I am so ready to get back to the dirt track,” an eager Ryan Bernal said. “Never in my 17 years of racing have I taken a longer break than three months, and with the off season and the academy it’s been eight very long months.”
Bernal’s 2016 campaign with Mike Phulps Motorsports will kick off on Sunday night as he takes part in a winged 360ci race at the Petaluma Speedway. Like he did during hte 2015 season, this year ahead will see Bernal again show his versatility as he is scheduled to compete in both winged and non winged 360ci events, as well as select non winged 410ci events including California Sprint Week.
“I am really thankful that Mike Phulps and his team stuck with me when I made the decision to go through the Fire Academy,” Bernal added. “We have a good thing going, and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this year.”
Bernal and company will be busy from this weekend through November, as Bernal will be up and down the state running with various sanctioning bodies.
“I am sure I will be a little rusty at first, but I know we will have a good car every night, and hopefully we can get up front in no time at all.”
