(-Aptos, CA)- The Wingless Series presented by Joe Hunt Magnetos is set to take part in a rare Sunday night show in Northern California as the series will take part in the Salute to Leroy Van Conett at the Stockton Dirt Track alongside the King of the West Series.
With the original date postponed due to weather earlier this year, the Salute To Leroy Van Connet will fill the schedule as the series’ third event with two exciting races already in the books.
Weather played havoc to the early part of the series schedule, and when the long awaited season opener finally took place on June 11th at the Petaluma Speedway, it was Klint Simpson putting on a thrilling show. After being involved in an early spin, Simpson would storm through the field and make a late race move to grab the first win of the season.
On June 25th, the series took to the Calistoga Speedway for only the third time ever in the series’ brief history. From his front row starting spot, Terry Schank, Jr took command of the race early and looked to be on his way to an easy win. Behind Schank though, Matt Streeter would put up a fight as he made things exciting in the race’s closing laps, but it would be Schank adding another win to his laundry list of achievements.
Sunday night, both Schank and Simpson are expected to be on hand as is a full field of drivers looking to grab their first series win of the season. Other drivers that are expected to be on hand include Barry Pries, Zack Kavert, Korey Combs, Eden McCormick, Shayna Sylvia, Nick Larsen, Jared Morrison, and many more wingless drivers.
Sunday night’s show will start an hour earlier and the front gates will open promptly at 4pm. Tickets will be available for $20 (lower deck) and $25 (upper deck). For more information on tickets please click over to www.stocktondirttrack.com.
