FRANKLIN, Pa. (Aug. 2, 2016) – Dale Blaney returned to the Winner’s Circle last weekend during Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions competition.

The win was the seventh of the season for the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored CH Motorsports team, which is set to head to the Midwest for the next two weeks.

Blaney will race this Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the 26th annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals before tackling the Capitani Classic at the half-mile oval on Sunday, the Front Row Challenge with the National Sprint League on Monday at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and the 56th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals next week at Knoxville Raceway.

“We need to make some laps out there,” he said. “Any time you can get on that track it’s helpful. Hopefully we can figure out some balance issues. For me to get on that track and run is a good thing.”

Blaney is coming off a strong weekend with the All Stars. It began last Friday at Eriez Speedway in Erie, Pa., where Blaney made his debut by qualifying ninth quickest, winning a heat race and placing third in the dash to start the main event on the inside of the second row.

“We didn’t qualify the best, but it got us on the front row of a heat and it was tough to pass in the heat races,” he said. “We were good in the dash and we got it a little better for the feature.

“We got a good start (to the feature) and jumped from third to second. Sheldon (Haudenschild) never got away from us. I felt like I was as good as him the whole race. I haven’t felt like that in a while. I knew I had a good car. I was trying to be patient early. Traffic was playing to his favor because most of the cars were on the bottom and he was on the top and I was on the bottom. The top was thin in turns one and two. About two laps after a restart he pushed over the edge and opened the door for me. I led the rest of it.”

The victory was his 133rd career in All Star action.

Saturday’s event at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway in Imperial, Pa., rained out before the main event. Blaney was scheduled to start fourth.

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Tri-City Raceway Park, where Blaney set quick time during qualifying, ended fourth in a heat race and advanced from eighth to fifth place in the dash.

“We cut a really good lap in qualifying and got ourselves in position where I didn’t have to work hard in the heat,” he said. “We had a good dash and gained a row. I felt like my car was really good at that point. We just weren’t any good come feature-time. I went from fifth to eighth before the flag stand (on the start) and ran there for most of the race. We just struggled for 30 laps.”

Blaney posted a seventh-place finish.
