FRESNO, Calif. (October 20, 2016) — Dominic Scelzi will be heading overseas this winter.
Scelzi is excited to announce that he will pilot a sprint car for Wormall Motorsport during approximately 16 races in Australia this December and January.
“I want to thank the entire Wormall Family as well as everyone at Wormall Motorsport and Wormall Civil for this amazing opportunity and I look forward to making the most of it,” he said. “I’m extremely excited and so thankful to be able to do this. It’s going to make for a lifetime of memories. I look forward to learning as much as I can and staying as sharp as I can.”
This will be Scelzi’s first trip to Australia, where he will compete in the USA vs. WA Sprintcar Speedweek and other select 410ci races before ending at the 45th annual Lucas Oil Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic on Jan. 20-22.
“The goal is to make every show, progress each race and to be able to compete for wins and hopefully get to Victory Lane,” he said. “That’d be huge.
“Also, I’m excited that my younger brother, Giovanni, will be there as a key part of the team throughout the trip. We’ve been working together a lot lately on setting up our race cars in preparation for the trip.”
Dominic Scelzi has a couple of weekends of action remaining this season in the United States. Next up, he is slated to drive for the Van Lare Family this Thursday through Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., for the 23rd annual Trophy Cup.
