NIXA, Mo. (June 28, 2017) – Kyle Bellm raced to his second win of the month aboard the Resource Asset Management Solutions (RAMS) No. 14k Sprint Car in Saturday night’s ASCS Warrior Region main event at Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway.

It was an ideal tune-up for Bellm and the PPG Automotive Finishes/Colorvision team going into a four-race weekend that includes three nights of ASCS Warrior Region action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then a $4,000-to-win tilt at Lake Ozark Speedway on Monday night, July 3.

Saturday’s triumph marked Bellm’s first visit to the Lake Ozark Speedway since it re-opened this year.

“It was nice to be back there,” Bellm said. “The track was really nice, it was slick and up on the wall.”

The Saturday night card was a true test session after battling with a balky engine in the previous weekend’s ASCS Speedweek finale.

“We found a bad fuel pump and bypass,” Bellm explains. “A big thanks goes to Cooper Racing for flowing our system and pinpointing our engine issues from the Lucas Oil Speedway race.”

With the issues diagnosed properly, Bellm took full advantage aboard the VP Racing Fuels/Schure Built Suspensions entry.

After going from fourth to second in his heat race, Bellm won the Dash and started on the pole of the feature event in the Christian County Collision Repair/Bybee Lawn Care machine.

“We weren’t great in the heat, but we made some changes and won the Dash,” Bellm relates. “We made a couple more changes after that and got a lot better for the feature.”

Bellm put the Schaeffer Oil/Prater Designs/The Engine Heater entry out front in short order, reaching traffic in the non-stop affair.

“We made it through traffic really clean, I knew that working traffic was the difference between winning and losing this one,” Bellm says.

Working traffic to perfection to keep his chasers at bay, Bellm put away his second win of the year in his return to Lake Ozark Speedway.

“It went caution-free, which is a little surprising on a slick track,” Bellm says.

Bellm will get two more shots at Lake Ozark Speedway victory lane this weekend with the second leg of the ASCS Warrior Region triple on Saturday and then Monday’s unsanctioned $4,000-to-win card. The weekend’s four-race set begins at Fulton, Missouri’s Callaway Raceway on Friday night with the pair of Lake Ozark events sandwiching Sunday night’s ASCS Warrior card at California, Missouri’s Double X Speedway.

“We feel good with the way the car is working right now, hopefully we can come out of this weekend with at least another win or two,” Bellm wraps up.

2017 Quick Stats: 18 races, 2 wins, 6 top-fives, 6 top-tens.
