Austin Williams Grabs Perris “Glenn Howard Memorial” Victory

Charging from ninth, “The Big Game Hunter” Austin Williams (Yorba Linda, CA) took the lead from “The Demon” Damion Gardner on the 22nd lap and claimed the “12th Annual Glenn Howard Memorial” at Perris Auto Speedway. Driving Tom and Laurie Sertich’s #92 Huntington Beach Glass & Mirror / Lucas Oil DRC, Williams claimed a hard fought main event and scored his ninth career AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car victory. Jake Swanson, fast qualifier Gardner, “Thunder” Tommy Malcolm, and Brody Roa rounded out the top-five drivers.

Starting on the pole position, Brody Roa (Garden Grove, CA) emerged victorious at Canyon Speedway Park’s “Southwest Championships.” Racing Tanner Grau’s #34 Westin Diversified / Western Premier Hauling Maxim, Roa claimed his second Sands Chevrolet USAC SouthWest Sprint Car main event of the season over R.J. Johnson, fast qualifier Hunter Schuerenberg, “Chargin” Charles Davis Jr., and Dennis Gile.

Austin Liggett Tops Merced USAC/CRA Debut

Racing from fifth, Austin Liggett (Tracy, CA) slipped by Jake Swanson on the eleventh lap and sprinted to the Friday night “California Sprint Week” debut at Merced Speedway. Piloting the family owned #83 Excel Environmental Services / Liggett Trucking Maxim, Liggett scored his second career AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car triumph and became the tenth driver to win in fifteen races. The defending USAC West Coast Champion finished ahead of “Hollywood” Danny Faria Jr., Chase Johnson, Brody Roa, and Swanson.
