Schatz Named North American 410 Poll Driver of the Year

For the ninth time in his career, Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota, was voted the “Driver of the Year” by the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers. The 2016 World of Outlaws (WoO) champion earned seventeen (17) of the twenty (20) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. The other first-place vote-getters were Daryn Pittman, Jason Johnson and the late Bryan Clauson.

Sam Hafertepe, Jr., of Sunnyvale, Texas, was voted the 2016 “Driver of the Year” by the North American 360 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the first time. Hafffertepe, the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) national tour champion, earned ten (10) of the first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. Brady Bacon Named North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll “Driver Of The Year” For 2016

Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, today was named the 2016 “Driver of the Year” by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the first time. The United States Auto Club (USAC) point champion earned three (3) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. Richard Hoffman, owner of Bacon’s famed number 69 sprint car earned the 2016 non-winged sprint car “Team of the Year” award.

World Finals Auction to Take Place on Saturday, October 29 at Noon

Once again, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa, will be teaming up with the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Kentucky, and the DIRT Motorsports Hall of Fame in Weedsport, New York, to host a fundraising auction for all three museums during the World Finals in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year’s auction will be held on Saturday, October 29, at the Z-Max Dragway pavilion at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and it will begin at 12 Noon.
