The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum’s “Sprint Car 101 – Third Thursday Series’ program slated for Thursday, July 21, in Knoxville has been postponed as the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) comes to town with its Pullin’ for the (Marion County) Fair truck and tractor pull event.

Four-time Knoxville Raceway 360-cubic-inch sprint car champion David Hesmer of Marshalltown will take center stage on Thursday evening, June 16, at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville as he is the featured guest at the next “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series program.

The enhanced and expanded edition of “Still Wide Open” by National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Brad Doty, with award-winning journalist Dave Argabright, is now available in the National Sprint Car Museum store.

Super-modified champion Dean Sylvester of Hedrick, Iowa, will take center stage this Thursday evening, May 19, at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville as he is the featured guest of this month’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series program.

As part of the National Sprint Car Museum Foundation’s goal to get its 2010 North American Sprint Car Poll awards in recipients’ hands by July 1 of this year, honors will be bestowed this weekend at the Bloomington and Lincoln Park Speedways in Indiana and at the Knoxville Raceway in Iowa.

The National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series will continue on Thursday, May 19, with a “Salute to Dean Sylvester”.

Governor Terry Branstad has proclaimed Saturday, May 14, as “Iowa Museum Day” and the National Sprint Car Museum has decided to use the opportunity to put a special one-time exhibit together honoring three Iowans that have made their mark on sprint car racing.
