The 2nd Annual Kistler Racing Products Open House Draws Large Crowd
Kistler Engines and Kistler Racing Products, located in Erlin, Ohio (just Northeast of Fremont), opened their doors to the public once again on Saturday as fans, drivers, owners, media, and product representatives were invited to come and enjoy a day of guest speakers, good food, and bench racing. People poured into the Kistler shop from all around Ohio and Western PA to see first hand what goes on behind the scenes of one of the top engine builders in sprint car racing.

Elmore’s Alvin Roepke took one home for the regular Attica Raceway Park racers, winning the 14th Annual Brad Doty Classic, presented by Wirtgen America. The Attica points leader’s win was worth $14,000. Roepke passed Butch Schroeder on lap six and dominated the remainder of the race. Dean Jacobs came from a tenth place start to finish second over a late-charging Dale Blaney.

Getting Geeked for a Big Racing Week!
This is an extremely big week for racing here in the Midwest. The Wolverine Mid-Season Nationals, The Brad Doty Classic, and the Mopar Kings Royal are the main focus this week around here. Following that will be Pennzoil Sprint Week, which is just around the corner. We’re totally geeked to bring it all to you, and can’t wait for things to start getting cranked up on Wednesday.

Mike Linder Picks Up First Challenger ASCS Sprint Car Win at Attica
Mike Linder has run very strong with the Challenger ASCS Sprint Car Series after picking up a ride during the middle of the season. The 1998 305 Econo Sprint Champion at Attica Raceway Park used his knowledge of the race track hold of current point leader Phil Gressman to pick up his first ever Challenger ASCS Sprint Car victory.

Ohio Tour Wrap Up
I’d like to apologize for the lack of a column the past few weeks, but I’ve been very busy with school and going to the races so I actually can see what’s going on first hand. For the past five weeks the Slideways crew has visited four racetracks, watched six races, one practice, one rain out, and have traveled well over 1,600 miles doing so. Needless to say, I’ve been very busy.
