(Mercer, PA)…For the fourth time in the past six weeks, rain showers washed out action at Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday night. Rain started early in the morning and after a break mid-morning, heavy rain returned at noon and with showers scattered throughout Ohio the decision was made to cancel the event. The rained out Free Crawford County Night presented by Spanky’s Tobacco World & Armstrong has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, July 24. Stay tuned for an official announcement.

“This weather is such a shame,” stated first year owner Bill Altman. “We were really looking forward to our Free Crawford County and the rescheduled $10 Single Parent Family Night, but just can’t catch a break with this weather. The year started off so good with three sunny nights to start, but we’ve fought the weather the last six weeks. Sunny, warm weather has to be around the corner soon!”

There will be no racing this Saturday, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be action on the track as the All-American “Spring Nationals” World Championship Pulling Event comes to The Park next Saturday, May 29 presented by Fallsway Equipment Company. The Big Rig Semis presented by Fox & James Freightliner, the Smoker Tractor presented by Watson’s Inc., the Hot Diesel 4×4 Trucks presented by Hovis Auto & Truck Supply, and the Pro Street Gas 4×4 Trucks presented by Hovis Auto & Truck Supply. Gates open at 4 p.m. and pulling begins at 6:30. The rain date is Sunday at 5 p.m.

Auto racing returns on Saturday, June 5 featuring the Free Venango County Night presented by Spanky’s Tobacco World and 2 for $20 Adult Admissions with the Luxaire Heating & Cooling 410 Sprint Cars, Approved Toilet Rentals Modifieds, 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Stock Cars, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks.
