TULSA, Okla. (March 11, 2011) – Both Arizona-based American Sprint Car Series Regional tours have acquired title sponsorship, as Sunoco Race Fuels has signed on as title sponsor for both the non-wing ASCS Canyon Region and the winged ASCS Southwest Region.

In addition to a points fund contribution for both the Canyon and Southwest Regions, fuel and tire bonuses will be distributed over the course of the year courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels.

A 55-gallon drum of Sunoco Race Fuel will be awarded at each driver’s meeting at each event for both Regions. In order to be eligible for this contingency, a driver must be a member, must have competed in that Region’s most recent event and have the Sunoco Race Fuels decals displayed prominently on their car.

There will be five races for each Region that a Hoosier right rear tire will be awarded in the place of fuel, with the same eligibility requirements in place.

The Sunoco Fuel ASCS Canyon Region brings the best of wingless Sprint Car racing action to fans in Arizona with 18 scheduled nights of competition at Tucson’s USA Raceway and Peoria’s Canyon Speedway Park.

The Sunoco Fuel ASCS Southwest Region brings 20 nights of premier winged Sprint Car racing to race fans at Tucson’s USA Raceway and Peoria’s Canyon Speedway Park along with a pair of nights in conjunction with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by K&N Filters National series at Las Cruces’ Southern New Mexico Speedway.

The Sunoco Fuel ASCS Canyon Region kicks off its season this Saturday night March 12 at Tucson’s USA Raceway, while the Sunoco Fuel ASCS Southwest Region resumes action Saturday night, April 2, at USA Raceway after opening the 2011 season in conjunction with the Lucas Oil ASCS National series at USA Raceway’s recent Copper on Dirt.

Buckeye’s Charles Davis, Jr., is the reigning Canyon Region champion, while Las Cruces’ Rick Ziehl is the defending Southwest Region champion.

The 2011 season marks the 20th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with approximately 200 nights of competition at tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
