CALIFORNIA’S AJ RUSSELL TO COMPETE IN THE MUST SEE RACING XTREME SPRINT SERIES

Holly, MI – (July 26, 2012) — BIOBASED.US  sprint car team owner Suellen Wilshe announced today that AJ Russell will join teammates Jason Blonde and Jimmy McCune to compete in the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series targeting the 2012 events at Salem, Anderson, Winchester and Berlin Speedways.

 

AJ Russell of Clovis, California is one of the first Native American race car drivers to compete in NASCAR’s top three divisions. He started racing at the age 7 in quarter midgets moving to the California Asphalt Trucks series at the young age of 15 where he won features and was selected “Rookie of the Year”.

 

A 17, AJ  moved into the 360 SuperModifieds, won features and collected another “Rookie of the Year” honor.

 

Up next , he competed in the  Davey Hamilton 410 SuperModified series winning  his first feature as a rookie, finished third in the series championship and  yet another “Rookie of the Year”.

 

Leaving the SuperModified league with his suitcase in hand, he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where he raced in the Indy Pro Series. In 2007, A.J. took his 410 SuperModified to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the East vs. West SuperModified Championships starting 15th in a field of more than 35 cars and fought his way to the front to be the 2007 East vs. West Champion.

 

In January of 2010 A.J. moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where he joined the Sacred Power Racing family to further his career as the first Native American in  NASCAR’s Craftsman Truck Series.

 

AJ currently competes in the BIOBASED.US sponsored Supermodified team racing in ISMA and the Must See Racing Supermodified Series. Russell is expected to be a front runner at  the Auto City Speedway/ Must See Racing “SUPER SHOOTOUT” on August 24th.
