Stewart ‘Kick’s-it’ To Seventh At Grays Harbor

From Peterson Media

Climbing back aboard the Paul Silva owned, Kick-it/Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation/A.R.T. No.57, Shane Stewart was in action on Wednesday night against the World of Outlaws, and shuffled his way up to a seventh place finish.

A very sticky surface greeted the field of 21 fire-breathing 410 sprint cars, and Stewart started his night off by timing in eighth fastest and lining up Lucas Oil Products/Pro Bilt Construction/Palmero Properties machine second in the second heat.

Heat race action saw Stewart slip back to the third spot on what was a very tight, hooked up surface, ultimately transferring him into the feature event where he would roll off in the 12th spot.

With passing very tough on this night, Stewart would capitalize on four caution flags bringing out restarts as he worked forward inside the top ten.

Utilizing a KRE engine on this night, Stewart was able to make late work of Cody Darrah for the seventh spot as the duo battled for a number of laps.

In the end, Stewart would end his night in the seventh spot, a little further back then he would have liked.

“It was a pretty tough track to pass on,” Stewart explained. “Paul and the entire Kick-it team gave me a great car for the feature event and we were able to gain some spots which wasn’t an easy task. The KRE engine from Australia ran great, and I’m happy they sent one over for us to try out after the success I had with them over the winter.”
