canadafansFrom Jake Langlois

A new player in the world of sprint car racing is emerging on the Canadian landscape. For years, Canadian sprinters had nowhere to go, no championship of their own. Kind of stuck in between American sanctions and partial schedules, for 2013 all of this is changing.

Eastern Ontario and Québec sprinters will have a series and a championship of their own to compete for. As of now, a 10 races format is being put together with a couple more to be confirmed.

Working closely with Dean Reynolds of the Empire Super Sprints and Mike Emhof of the Patriot Sprint Tour, local promoters have arranged their schedule in order to increase car counts and racing possibilities for Canadian sprinters.

No less than 8 shared events are in the works, C.A.O.S.S. sprinters will face off with the best the north east as to offer. 3 events at Brockville Ontario Speedway, 2 at Autodrome Granby, 1 at Autodrome Drummond, 1 at Mohawk international raceway, 1 at Cornwall motor Speedway. To cap it off, 2 events at the Stadiaum in St-Guillaume Québec.

A unique format in membership will permit C.A.O.S.S. sprinters to be full members of Empire Super Sprints and Patriot Sprint Tour, one fee and three full memberships. As of now the response is overwhelming, local racers have showed a strong interest in the project. Sponsorship is coming in strong for a healthy point fund, 2013 will be very promising for the Canadian sprint car scene.

A reunion is planned for racers and promoters for mid-january, all will be informed of the plans for this series. A board of directors will be voted, anyone wishing to join this group will be welcomed.

Hope to see you at your local track next season, in the mean time we wish you a warm and safe holiday season.
