Abbottstown, PA — (May 10, 2014) — Persistent rain showers into the evening forced Lincoln Speedway promoters to cancel Saturday evening’s May 10th racing program of 410 Sprints, 358 Sprints, and Central PA Legends.

And the showers never arrived until the worst possible time. Despite a forecast for morning and afternoon showers, it didn’t rain a drop until Fred Putney and his crew had the track run in and ready for hotlaps.

Thirty-seven “410” sprint cars, 21 “358” sprinters, and 27 Central PA Legends were in the pits for a World of Outlaw tune-up that was going to pay $4,000 to win.

Putney and the track crew ran the track in a second time after the first shower hit the track during the driver’s meeting at 6:15 p.m. Light rain began to fall again when the first group of 358’s were on the track for warm-ups. The second group was never called out, and promoters through in the towel when radar showed another hour to two hours of on-and-off rain at 8:00 p.m.

This coming Wednesday, May 14th, the WORLD OF OUTLAWS will be invading the Pigeon Hills oval. Time trials will get underway at 7:30 PM. Special Pit gates open at 3 PM, with general admission gates opening at 4 PM.
