Prescott Valley (AZ) Raceway hosts the next USAC Southwest Sprint race, a June 28 event, at a track which has yet to yield a win this year for series point leader R.J. Johnson.
Johnson, of Phoenix, Ariz.. now has 15 career USAC wins in Arizona after winning Saturday night’s “Father’s Day” feature at Canyon Speedway Park in the Michaels entry.
Johnson passed Stevie Sussex on lap 10 and led the rest of the way to beat Mike Martin, Josh Pelkey, Charles Davis Jr. and Matt Rossi.
The win leaves Johnson with a 27-point lead over Pelkey in the new standings.
