Knoxville, IA — (August 6, 2014) — Good morning from Knoxville Raceway.   The weather is cool, overcast, but at the moment not raining.   Knoxville announcer Kyle Luetters immediately coined today the “24 hours of Knoxville”, and that description may not be far off.   Today kicks off with a luncheon in the press center with Paul McMahan, Joey Saldana, Terry McCarl, and Justin Henderson. From there we begin covering two races in one day as we attempt to complete the Wednesday and Thursday preliminary night programs in the same night

Brian Stickel and his and his staff have begun the herculean effort of getting the grounds dry at Knoxville Raceway. The beeping sounds of heavy equipment are audible around the entire Marion County Fairgrounds this morning trying to pound the relentless Iowa black mud into submission. The handful of haulers that made it into the infield on Wednesday are still there as graders and other heavy equipment circle the infield.

Hopefully we can accomplish this double header to get the program back on track.

**Note** Format for Thursday night program has been changed to only the Thursday preliminary night and the Wednesday preliminary night will now race on Friday.  The non-qualifiers night will be held on Saturday morning.
