Banks, Oregon- The Northwest Focus Midget Series heads to Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday August 1st.  This will be their only appearance at the “Banks Bullring” in 2015 and is a must see event.  Some of the best Midget racers in the Western United States will be on hand with approximately fifteen teams making the journey.
“Our drivers have been anxiously waiting and are now ready for some fun side by side racing Saturday night,” commented Carla Stewart, Series Director for the Northwest Focus Midget Series, “Sunset (Speedway Park) is one of our favorite race track to go to.”
The series primarily races at Grays Harbor Raceway, Skagit Speedway, and Deming Speedway up north in Washington.  This will be the first race for the tour out of that state this year.  They will cross the Columbia River a second time later this month when they visit Cottage Grove Speedway on the 22nd.
The Northwest Focus Midget Series has visited SSP on seven occasions.  Mitch Hoffses and Jared Peterson are tied for the most wins with two each.  Pat Bliss, Michael Millard, and last year’s victor Tristan Thomas have all made it to the winner’s circle once.  Something to note is the two wins of Hoffses and Bliss’ single triumph were co-sanctioned with the Washington Midget Racing Association.
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets for both events are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
