Concord, NC— November 1, 2009—The third annual World of Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series is quickly approaching at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, November 5-7. In the 11 days leading up to the three-day action packed season ender, World of Outlaws drivers will share their thoughts on what is quickly becoming one of the “Must See” marquee events of the year.
The next driver up is three-time and defending World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz, who was victorious in the finale of the World Finals last season. Schatz is one of just two drivers along with Joey Saldana, who has competed in all 21 of the previous World of Outlaws events at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway. In his career at the track, Schatz has three wins, to go along with 17 Top-10 finishes of which 14 of those are Top-Five performances. He finished third earlier this season at the track and has finished eighth or better in nine consecutive races at the facility. Schatz enters the World Finals with a 19-point lead on Jason Meyers in the World of Outlaws championship standings as he chases his fourth consecutive title.

“It’s an awesome event. We were all pretty skeptical at first, but it has brought in a lot of people from across the country. It’s pretty cool to see that many people want to watch the World Finals, especially at an awesome facility like Charlotte. We’ll get to hang out with the boss and the guys down there for a little bit, so it’s a great event all the way around. It’s definitely a double banger. These shows could run independently to be honest. I think they could run World Finals for each series. To have them both together is pretty neat. I think the fans are probably a little different. Late model fans are specific to late models and so are sprint car fans, they are specific to sprint cars. It’s the only time of the year we get to run with them, so it’s fun for us to get to watch them and definitely a bonus for the fans.”
The finale of the World Finals will air live on SPEED on Saturday, November 7 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Bobby Gerould on the call and Brad Doty offering expert analysis along with Shane Andrews and Erin Crocker reporting from the pit area.
On Thursday, November 5 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motors Speedway, adult tickets will be $10, with tickets for children 12-under just $5.
On Friday, November 6 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway, adult tickets will be $35, with tickets for children 12-under just $10.
On Saturday, November 7 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway, adult tickets will be $35, with tickets for children 12-under just $10.
