Although they had aimed for a better result in last Saturday night’s Queensland Speedcar Title at Maryborough Speedway; Team Fox Racing (TFR) and their driver Scott Glazebrook were pleased with their fight back to finish in fourth place.

After starting the feature race out of position 11, due to disappointing results by TFR’s own standards during the heat races, the NSW # 9 Esslinger powered Spike driver was able to progress forward and at the fall of the chequered flag he had made their way past seven cars to finish in fourth.

“We struggled during our heat races and failed to move forward due to struggling to get a grip of an unfamiliar track and that really hurt us as we missed out on qualifying for the pole shuffle and started a lot further down the field in the feature race than we were hoping for,” Glazebrook explained, who along with TFR was making their first visit to Maryborough Speedway. “In the feature race we got a better handle of the setup and that enable us to move forward. I felt that had we started a little bit higher in the field then quite possibly could have finished higher. We were quick throughout the feature race but we just simply ran out of laps to pick off anymore cars.”

TFR and Glazebrook were assisted during the night by sidelined Queensland driver Brendan Palmer and his crew chief Paul ‘Murph’ Murphy and their presence made a difference come feature race time.

“Brendan and Murph were great all night and they certainly played a part in helping us pin point a good setup especially for the feature race,” added grateful Glazebrook.

The next appearance for TFR and Glazebrook will be at the second round of the Speedcar Super Series (SSS) on Saturday night, November 14 at Murray Bridge Speedway in South Australia.

Glazebrook currently sits third in the SSS point standings and the Western Australian based driver is hoping to consolidate that position in a fortnight’s time.

“It has been a very strong start to the season and we are confident that we can make a good account of ourselves at Murray Bridge and another podium finish would be just great,” concluded Glazebrook.

TFR and Glazebrook would like to thank Showpiece Signs and Designs, The Pool Shop in Kalamunda and Clemcorp Australia for all their 09/10 season support.
