Ian Madsen put on a show for the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway fans once again, coming home in second position in Round 12 of the Track Championship. Over the 30 laps, the rising Sprintcar star worked his way from seventh position to the podium , with a wheel to wheel duel for second position against Mitch Dumesny.
“It was real good to have a fun race and get another good finish,” remarked Madsen. “Hopefully we can keep doing it and get stronger and stronger each week.”
Coming off a top ten last Tuesday night, Madsen qualified the #35 Mattrans entry in sixth position. From here it was a night of seconds, with the same finishing position for his heat, dash and feature.
Next Saturday night Madsen faces World Series Sprintcars and is confident about similar results. It also serves as a warm up for the Australian Sprintcar Classic in Warrnambool in a few weeks time.
“I’m feeling pretty good about it. I think we have just as good a shot as anyone.”
Seven rounds of the Track Championship remain with Madsen currently sitting in fifth position. Only 100 points separate the leader and the St Mary’s based racer.
Madsen wishes to thank his father Joe and his sponsors for the 09/10 Season:
