FREMONT, OH — Kistler Engines and Kistler Racing Products, located in Erlin, Ohio (just Northeast of Fremont), opened their doors to the public once again on Saturday as fans, drivers, owners, media, and product representatives were invited to come and enjoy a day of guest speakers, good food, and bench racing. People poured into the Kistler shop from all around Ohio and Western PA to see first hand what goes on behind the scenes of one of the top engine builders in sprint car racing.
Guest speakers included Brian Kemenah (Kistler Racing Products), Greg Merchinson (Kinsler Fuel Injections), Paul Kistler (Kistler Engines), Bob Williams (All Pro Heads), Garry Bell (FSR Radiators), Danny Lasoski (WoO driver), and represetatives from R2C Racing Filters. All were on hand for a question and answer session that was educational for the race teams in attendance. Later in the afternoon, Paul Kistler treated the crowd to a demonstration of the shop’s engine dyno process as the rumble of a Kistler 410 engine could be heard throughout the shop. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments were served to the large crowd who spent time toruing the facility and discussing the upcoming 2010 season.
The crowd anticipated the results of the raffle where Tim Stover walked away with the grand prize – his choice of a J&J or JEI Chassis. Duane Zablocki won a set of wings from Wings Unlimited. Davis Brothers Racing won a complete Direct Mount front end assembly, Tim Cole won a Bell racing suit, and Randy Hammer won a set of Pro Shocks. Shawn Valenti aslo walked away with a Fuel Safe shell.
Dave Deyo of Kistler Racing Products stated that, “For the 2nd year in a row the event was a success. None of this could be done without the help of our vendors who donated door prizes and the Davis Brothers do a wonderful job organizing the catering so we can concentrate on other parts of the event.” Deyo went on to say, “We’re pleased to be a part of the F.A.S.T. Series again in 2010. We couldn’t ask for a better thing to be happening here in our own back yard. Its a great deal for the race teams and it has helped our business tremendously. These guys do an incredible job in helping out the teams and tracks in our area.”
It was announced in December that Kistler Racing Products would again lend their support to the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series as the title sponsor. The 2010 F.A.S.T. season will kick off on April 23rd at Attica Raceway Park. The full schedule will be released soon and will be similar to last year’s 22 race schedule. The point fund total continues to climb as more sponsors and advertisers are being secured each week. More than $60,000 in cash and prizes was distributed at the 2009 awards banquet and the FAST Series will again pay $10,000 to the winner of the “Kistler Cup” this coming season. In addition, the contingency award program is chock full of parts, certificates, and discounts that will be divided up amongst the teams throughout the season and at the year end banquet. All of these cash and prizes are in addition to what the two tracks pay out for their own respective points funds.
