Cory Kruseman of Ventura, Calif. has vaulted to second in the 2010 USAC Mopar Western Midget Series standings as a result of his victory Saturday night at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. He trails Brad Sweet by 15 points going into the May 1 race at the Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway.
Kruseman drove the Lucas Oil/Agromin Spike/Esslinger Ford to the 30-lap Bakersfield win, passing Robby Josett on lap 12 and leading the rest of the way to beat fast qualifier Kody Swanson, Josett, Randi Pankratz and Mike Gehringer.
The Midgets will share billing at Stockton with the USAC Western Ford Focuses and Young Guns.
