Millstadt, IL – The POWRi Presented by Speedway Motors National Midget and 600cc Micro Sprint event scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Macon, IL has been cancelled due to heavy rains and severe weather in the forecast.
The POWRi National Midget and 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint Series begins the outdoor racing season Friday April 23rd at Shepp’s Speedway in Alexander, IL and on Saturday April 24th at Macon Speedway in Macon, IL. This will be the first of two visits to the ¼ mile clay oval at Shepp’s Speedway. The following night the series invades the lightning fast 1/5 mile bull ring for the first of many visits to Macon Speedway.
Austin Brown of Millstadt, IL and 2007 POWRi Midget Champ Brad Loyet of Sunset Hills, MO share the early lead after one event in the midget point standings followed by defending champ Brad Kuhn, Tyler Robbins and Shane Cockrum rounding out the top 5. In the 600cc Micro Sprints Jeremy Camp of Blue Mound, IL takes the early lead after winning the series opener at Duquoin, IL followed by Gregg Dillion, Nic Harris, Andrew Felker and Nick Ivy rounding out the top five.
